Friendship

Friendship is that which gives life its color,
Without which it would be plain;
Like a fruit without much flavor,
Or a journey along a never-ending lane.

Blessed are those who believe
That friendship is truly a boon,
Since it is that which truly relieves
One from a deep, interior wound.

Friendship is symbolized by a friend,
Who would stand by one for life,
And upon whom one could depend,
Leaving no such feeling, as for strife.

And lastly, I would like to add
However long was your way,
And if it ever made you sad,
A friend is all you need to make your day.

Thanks. This one, however, unlike most of the others, was written without any feeling - it's a poem written for the sake of writing a poem.
