Justice (Fairy Tail Fan Fiction)

If Justice fears when Justice acts,
If she fears calumny or disgrace,
If she acts on vindictiveness only,
Justice has left without a trace.

If a man was being controlled,
Manipulated by some other being,
He is blindly sentenced to death,
Or locked away for all eternity.

Why should anyone show mercy
To a man whose deeds were wrong?
The deeper causes are trivial,
Prison is where the man belongs.

As his red-haired lover watches,
Watches as he is dragged away,
Her tearstained face contorted
With the memories of yesterday:

In her heart of heart she believes
In her Jellal’s true character:
In his goodness and his kindness,
And in the start of a new chapter.

That chapter of life when she would,
When she could finally be with him,
And years of strained relationships
Would die and smooth her wrinkled chin.

But alas, this Court has no justice,
Only an incredible, malicious spite.
It was preordained in this land
That the accused would lose the fight.

“Farewell, Erza.” His voice was soft,
And his green eyes met her brown ones.
His tears were caught within their ducts,
She let hers fall when he was gone.

She knew she would never see him;
She knew that’s what she’d expected,
And so she turned her back on him,
And let the memories stay dead.
