Notes: I wrote this in the middle of the Agatha Christie phase of my reading career, which may extenuate, in however small a degree, its overpowering cheesiness. I expurgated a lot of non-material from Chapter 11 onward, because I seemed to have got a carried away into the realm of irrelevancies and purple prose.

This has been edited heavily even otherwise since it was originally posted, mostly for grammar and choice of words. Because of a messed-up CPU clock, most chapters written before August 2008 were timestamped incorrectly, as with When the Clock Strikes One. For some reason I remember that I wrote the first chapter, or at least published it on FFn, on May 17, 2008, give or take a day. Or two. Or a week. But not a month.
