Of What We Could Have Been (Fan Fiction)

There’s not a day I don’t think of you
And all that we could have been.
There’s not a night I don’t dream of you
And ponder deeply of whatever sin
Has trapped my heart in this painful tin.

We’re quite unlike each other- so it is,
And I cannot help but stop and think
What among qualities did my life miss
That in my direction you don’t even blink.
I cry in my sleep and shudder to think.

Night turns to day and yet it is dark-
Dark as the depths of an abysmal cave.
Oh how I wish together we could embark
On an eternal journey that will me save.
Oh, Thou hast rendered me a knave.

Your name to my ears is divine-
More pleasing to me than liberty.
Oh how I wish your whole could be mine.
But alas for me, there’s no prosperity
Even if I swear to thee my fidelity.

Sharp as a razor is your cold stare,
Cutting into my heart; so deep.
And I cannot but live in despair,
Seeing you submit all your sleep
To thoughts of that redhead-dweeb.
