Rainbows in December

Every cloud has a silver lining
And every devil has an angel within.
Every day has a new sun shining,
And every night has a light when dim.

Morning begins with the rising of the sun,
As night commences with the moon.
Between these two phases lies only one
Day- in which one must think soon.

One must decide what one wishes to do- and fast,
In a day filled with only twenty-four hours;
And the day seems to be gone before it can last,
And one can’t realize that one possesses real power.

But think instead now of all the goodness
That the world is only filled with- even now.
Do not think once of all the rudeness;
Think not of it once- anyhow.

Look not at the single dry leaf in your tree,
Or the solitary wilted flower in your bouquet,
Or perhaps the faintness of flavor in your tea-
Ignore it all- If only for one day.

And that one day, you will surely learn
That life is wonderful when you think positive,
And wonderful it will be as long as you yearn
To think about others and be sensitive.

Every cloud has a silver lining,
And every flint has a glowing ember;
Every sun is forever shining,
And rainbows are seen even in December.
