Fan Fiction News

I'm extremely pleased with the responses Nights at Kainan has been getting. You have no idea how ecstatic I become when I receive a review notification.
Moving on, Pollux's story His Sticky Stare and My Long Legs has really inspired me. I really wonder why Night Strider and The Long Fall of Prose/ivybluesummers have stopped writing for Slam Dunk (random, haha!)... The category is in acute need for good stories, you guys!
It's so sickening when you come across a story where a conceited author pens down something pretentious while making the worst imaginable grammatical errors in the process. This story was written way back in 2004, I know, but recently I came across it. It was written by some julie-tearjerky nincompoop. I have nothing against the fact that her English is abysmal, but what really amused me was a certain klutzy git who up for her in front of critics like Strider and ivybluesummers. Her name was iron69butterfly, and here's an example of her stuck-up, inadvertently self-deprecating retorts to some good reviews:

That's right Itchan! A writer wouldn't write something on a prologue if its not related with other chapters. It just shows that Night Strider is stupid.

Add some cheese by the way. I'll read the other stories. That was the first, and here is the second:

Where's the 3rd chapter? so its not yet in? Well, we have some left-handed compliments right here. Oh, Thesaurus Gril. Is it really Gril? Or is it Girl? Look right here. Straight here. Read this carefully. SHE CANNOT ** THE PIGEONS BECAUSE SHE'S HUMAN! STUPID. The reviewers are stupid and so are you. Hey Itchan, don't lose your temper but let me lose mine. I know this would happen and I prepared. And Thesausrus Gril (whatever) just say 'I'll report you' instead of 'I'm gonna report user you.' It sounds cheap. You know what I mean? The user is her. Oh I don't want another class here!

Hey there Bet You Love That. That's why I'm supporting her, stupid. She's japanese and she needs me. I'm checking out good writers but its in fiction press. Check 'em out if you want.See that? She molested the word 'stupid' and made it redundant. And to think she had the audacity of calling Bet You Love That stupid. Now, if there is any living soul out there who wishes to contradict me when I say iron69butterfly and julie-tearjerky are one and the same person, they may speak, for him I have offended. How dare that slutty bitch call Night Strider and the others 'stupid'?

Note the irritable manner in which she said: "Oh, I don't want another class here!" Honestly, iron69butterfly, the world would sooner come to an end than people start going to you for English classes.

And what in the name of Shakespeare's curly mustache did she mean by 'cheese'?! (Forgive me, O Shakespeare, for I have wronged you by writing your honorable name in the same line as a shitcan's.)

Anyway, here's what I said:

It’s plagiarized, as you have so wholeheartedly admitted. Clichéd. But I do acknowledge that I rolled over laughing at the gratuitously histrionic narrative manner that so exaggerated the situation wherein a horde of birds may assail the one that’s feeding them. It just cracked me up. You have this servile correspondent and purported guide named some ironbutterfly or whatever. As is so obvious to even a blind eye, the two of you must be one and the same person. It’s just so palpable that she’s no one but you! Well, let me just add that no human help in the universe can help a conceited and presumptuous author such as yourself. In fact, you are not even qualified for the title ‘author.’ With limited vocabulary and abysmal grammar, your stories are pretentious, yet nauseatingly prosaic. And don’t even ask me to wander into the premise of your execrable grammar. If you don’t know the right tenses, it’s equivalent to being unable to tell your mom apart from your dad. Please, get your basic grammar skills in place before you set out on your expedition to proclaim to the world that you’re the new Shakespeare. Puh-leez. And chapter 2 was as colorless as chapter 1 was highfalutin. Your narrative style gave me the impression of a disabled legislator. In order to interpret the lowly presentation, made even more intricate and abstruse with the fact that it bears not a trace of the English Grammar I’m familiar with, I would require a brain as powerful as Einstein’s, or one as primitive as yours.
Yeah, and in response to your little A/N: Your computer’s not the only thing that’s broken after reading your story...
Conclusively, I just want to elucidate a few things with that ironbutterfly klutz/ you. The way you used the word ‘stupid’ in most of your reviews, directing them toward great authors like Night Strider and Bet You Love That, gave me this impression of a three-year-old mute kid who’s miraculously managed to speak a new word and therefore goes around proudly saying it to other people. Honestly, the way you said ‘stupid’ just made me laugh. Sure, if your that supportive about your friend/you, you might clarify things a little more humbly- accounting for the fact that you’re speaking to people whose knowledge of the English language exceeds a hundred million times of yours. Honestly, it’s like some hobo talking to the Royalty of the land, which in this case would go even beyond Divinity compared to a bug like you.
I hope the infinitesimal semblances of gray-matter in that tiny head of yours was able to comprehend the various reasons I have so amicably put forth to you as to why you and your deplorable kin should not be permitted to write in English, lest someday you become the bane of the language.

Very unimpressive... I wish Strider, ivyblue or Pollux would give me lessons on how to make a witty and strongly-worded criticism. I really suck at those. In fact, the only reason I even bothered writing all that (apart from the fact that the highfalutin prose was an insult to the English language) was to test my critiquing abilities... Obviously they don't exist.
