When The Rain Refuses to Fall

It's akin to physical and mental torture over here when the Rain Gods tease us mortals with a few meager droplets of water, with thunder rumbling almost mockingly overhead. Just when we think it's about to rain, and begin rejoicing when even the slightest semblance of a water drop is spotted on the ground, the sun blazes forth from behind the gray clouds and ingratiatingly radiates enormous amounts of unwarranted heat waves down at us.
Lately, however, the stingy rainclouds have spared us fifteen minutes of rainfall a day. It's like ration, I swear!
Have you any idea what's its like here? Living in India when the Monsoon clouds have disappointed you? If this doesn't signify drought, then I don't know what does. Luckily, I have man's best invention by my side (best after the computer, that is^^)- the air conditioner! You have no idea how thankful I am to whoever it was that invented the miracle-device.
