I have the annoying combination of fever, sore throat and sinusitis, so yeah, life sucks right now. I can't go to school today, and that sucks, because I won't be able to meet any of my friends and I will virtually become a recluse until evening. Yeah, it's seven-thirty in the morning, so I think you get how much of the day is left before me right now. Sucks to the core, the situation. Oh, and with reference to the 'Terrorism' post of mine, fortunately, there have been no such terrorist attacks. We can still pray that this statement of mine doesn't come back at me. Anyway, I will have no choice today but read books. I'm presently reading five different books simultaneously, so yeah, call me weird. The books are: 'Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox', Robin Cook's 'Marker', Oscar Wilde's 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and P.G. Wodehouse's 'Big Money'. Okay, so that makes four. But whatever. Artemis Fowl and the Time Paradox is engrossing. I'd say it's Colfer's best so far. The Picture of Dorian Gray is dark and well written. But the philosophy is unprecedented, and the book is very enjoyable to read. My aunt recommended it to me and I bought the book around Christmas, 2006, but never started reading it until this June, the reason for which, I'm not close to discovering. It's immaterial, though, because now I'm actually reading the book and uh... I'm rambling. No matter. Robin Cook's 'Marker', I'd say, is reasonably interesting. I like the vocabulary and the content but, I'll have to say, Robin Cook lacks style -- thoroughly. His language is boring and gives the impression of making a strong attempt at achieving what is beyond him -- viz. the parlance of the common American. P.G. Wodehouse's books never fail to uplift and make me laugh, and I may be bold enough to say that my writing style has taken a turn in the direction of his, although never in a million years will I be able to reach his level. I would have whipped the sorry asses of the swiny bastards who animadverted upon Wodehouse when he was captured in Germany and alleged that he had committed treason. I will stop rambling now and go downstairs for breakfast.
