It's been raining for the past 42 hours or so. Now there's respite, but newspapers say it could go on for another 36 hours. We needed rain, but only enough rain! The lake in this city has overflowed and quite a large numer of localities have been flooded. The plants and trees needed water. But now they're drooping -- there was so much rain! And not just a light drizzle, but TORRENTS of rain. These rains are so unpredictable...
Moving on, I doubt it's surprising that the Indo-US nuclear deal is faced with an indefinite hiatus. I really doubt if the next US president would continue it. Moreover, India doesn't seem very happy about it. The next Prime Minister elections are coming up (next year, I think) so it's highly doubtful whether this nuclear deal has a future at all.
This year Independent India is 61 years old. That's surprising, really, seeing the present degree of development. If I could do something for this country, I'd blow up all the beggars and slum-dwellers. There'd be a lot more space for residents, lesser CO2 released into the air, and a better rate of development and economy... There's a catch over here: Most of the slum-dwellers comprise the labor-class of people. If they weren't there, construction and other such things would be rendered impossible. But wiping out the beggars would do all good -- Their lives are miserable, and their existance makes others' lives miserable... Call me a misanthrope, but they deserve to be killed, for the good of all.
And darn those imbecilic morons, TATA, to eternal HECK for making 'The World's Cheapest Car'. Hell, those buffoons have no idea how bad the traffic conditions here are, and now it'll increase manifold, thanks to their sheer lack of intelligence. I'm only thankful that the prices of petrol and diesel have risen proportionately. That should discourage potential car owners from buying anything new. Here're some really scary figures: Every day, 300 new cars are being poured into the city roads. (I don't know how many are thrown out, but...) And now, with the TATA Nano bullshit, I bet it'll rise to 800.
The populace of India doesn't care a bit about cleanliness. I don't think there's anything more to add over here. If you're not a resident of India, and have visited India before, you'd know what I'm talking about. Or if you haven't visited India before, please don't. Save yourself the torture.
