Oh it all goes on well, doesn't it? Life's great when it goes the way you want it to. Mine'll go the way I want it to. Shortly. After tomorrow, that is, when my last exam is over. And do you know what I love about last exams? After I'm done, I can look back at the two long and tedious weeks and say, "That's all part of the past." I'll be able to sit at the computer without that sinking feeling of guilt and that annoying voice at the back of my head that tells me to go back and study. But I still have tomorrow left, so I'd better not get carried away just yet, or I might just flunk the test with my master excuse being that I was daydreaming about the stuff I would do after the test. That'll certainly cost me my front row of teeth and a lot of dignity.
I scored 92.5% in my chemistry test, and that's only because I forgot to study this one entire chapter. I think it would be more truthful, if I replaced that 'forget' with 'chose not to'. Yeah, I chose not to. That's because I greatly underestimated that topic's importance, and if I hadn't 'forgotten' to study it, I may have scored 96% easily. There's no use regretting it now. The wiser thing to do would be to make sure I don't do something as silly while studying for tomorrow's test, which is biology. Yes, biology. I'm not really a fan of biology, despite the fact that that I usually score the highest marks in the grade. Blame that little chapter over there called 'Reproduction'. Not that it's that explicit in our textbook. (How could it be? Indians are a bunch of prudes!) It's just that I know too much about it already. Far too much.
Anyway, my history test went fairly well today, considering it's history that we're talking about. I think I'll score more than what I'd expected before I got the test paper. But then I hate myself for not being able to remember this one stupid term in the test that'll probably cost me a mark or two now. I mean, I racked my brain to the limits, stretched my neurons until they threatened to snap, got that old acetylcholine working, and yet was unable to recall this goddamned term: 'Doctrine of Lapse'. How stupid is that?
But it's all done now, and I'll do better than to brood over my history test now, when I still have biology ahead of me. Mind you, biology's not hard. Not one bit. It's just that, no matter how small it may be, an obstacle is still an obstacle, and a day is still a day.
