My exams begin tomorrow and drag on until the thirtieth, so that's just about two weeks of hellish torture.
My first test is English: Paper 1, which is grammar. I usually ace Paper 1.
My second is English: Paper 2, which is literature. We have to read fifteen short stories, twelve poems, and Acts I through IV of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. I don't mind, because it's fun, and I can whiz through it in no time, and score well too.
Third, Geography. Now, Geography is unimaginably hard and is a massive burden. To begin with, we have to study Topographic Maps and do all kinds of stuff that one would expect a Geographer to do. I mean all the cartographic shit just freaks me out. It's not like if I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, I'm gonna flip my topographic map out and go "Ah!" And then we have to study the physical features, climate, soils, food-crops and cash-crops of India, and Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan as well, but only for physical features. And to make matters worse, my Geography teacher ADMONISHES people to insanity!
Fourth, Math. I can manage Math fine. More than fine, actually. I just hate it when I copy digits wrong! I lost fifteen marks because of that the last time! So topics include: Financial Math (Compound Interest, Sales Tax, Banking, Shares and Dividends), Algebra (quadratic equations, linear inequations, ratio and proportions, factor theorem, HCF and LCM of polynomials, matrices), Coordinate Geometry (reflection, distance and section, equations of straight lines, statistics [measures of central tendencies: mean, median, mode]), Trigonometry and Geometry, including stuff based on the circumference and area of circles, semicircles and sectors.
Fifth, Computer Applications. In other words, Java. Pretty hard. Test is of 200 marks. Scaring the hell out of me. Eleven different chapters, including arrays, strings, encapsulation, interfaces, and stuff I don't even remember.
Sixth, Chemistry. Topics to study: Chemical bonding, metallurgy, acids (,) bases and salts, hydrogen chloride, electrolysis, periodic classification of elements and organic chemistry. Organic chemistry is so confusing with all the 1,1 dichloro 2,2, dibromo propanoic acid and stuff. That was a name of an organic compound according to the rules set down by the IUPAC.
Seventh, Hindi! Hell, we have grammar, five short stories and two one-act plays!! I suck at Hindi and I'm so gonna die!
Eighth, Environmental Education. Seven chapters, including prevention of cruelty to animals, and things I don't remember.
Ninth, Physics. Topics: Force, Work, Power and Energy, Machines, Calorimetry, Refraction of Light through prisms and lenses, Electromagnetic Spectrum, emission of thermions and the cathode ray tube, and nuclear physics. Fairly easy.
Tenth, History and Civics. History includes: Indian History: The Revolt of 1857, Creation of the Indian National Congress, Methods of the Moderates, Methods of the Extremists. World History: World War I, World War II, Rise of Fascism and Nazism, creation of the UNO, agencies of the UNO, the Universal declaration of Human Rights.
Civics: The Union Parliament, the state legislatures, the union executive, the state executives.
On the whole, 14 chapters. 14 chances for me to DIE.
And finally, Biology. Including the nervous system, endocrine system, and the reproductive system. Fairly easy.
So you see, I'm not even supposed to be on the computer now!
