Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
There was an essay-writing competition in school today and one of my friends and I were responsible for writing down the topics on the chalkboards of the high school classes. There were two topics. So my friend suddenly suggested that we play a practical joke and tell the people of the ninth grade that there's been a mistake and the topics that we've given them were not the right ones. So I thought something up, and after coming up with something, and several censors, this is what resulted: Should people with large families be punished/fined? He barged into the classroom and masterfully read it out with a serious expression and I didn't enter it on purpose, because I knew I wouldn't be able to control my laughter. So I stood in the corridor and laughed my ass off. That, of course, wasn't enough, so we barged into my classroom, where the math teacher was sitting, and he *pretended* to read out: Should contraceptives be promoted among school-going children? The entire classroom, including the math teacher burst into uncontrollable laughter, and when she asked to see, I quickly snatched the paper away. Anyway, my friend here asked, "How many of you want this topic?" and virtually everyone raised their hand. And I was like, "It's too late." And we left and told our 8th grade English teacher, with whom the two of us are really chummy, and she's went: "Are you two crazy? Now she (the math teacher) is going to spread it around in the staffroom!" We were of course much too wily to permit something like that to happen, especially since we knew it beforehand, so we thought up something. In addition to these two silly topics, I composed six, and showed the paper to the math teacher, who seemed to accept it, though rather dubiously. Then we went to our English teacher and gave her the paper and said, "You know what to do!" Anyway, I'm only posting this up because it's an event I wouldn't want to forget. It has no relevance to anything in this blog, and its purpose was similar to a diary entry's.
