I think I fulfilled the promise I made to myself and studied pretty hard today: I studied two chapters in computer, one in history, one in Hindi, two in geography and two in environmental education. Of course, I'll have to increase my study hours further if I want to stand a chance in these exams. All in due time. But wait: my exams begin the day after tomorrow, so fuck! There is no 'due time'! I have to finish as much as I can, as soon as I can, or I'm really, really going to regret it. That's it, I'm taking tomorrow off to study my butt off. Let's see... I think I'll study the same subjects again tomorrow. Well, they are the hardest/most substantial, after all, and like I said: on Thursday I have English grammar, and I can take the test with my eyes closed. The day after that is English literature. Thursday's plenty of time to study that. Saturday's Hindi, so I guess tomorrow I have to pay Hindi extra attention. The fact that the notebook I wrote the Hindi grammar stuff in is with my friend, who's in Bombay right now, (and won't be returning until late tomorrow night), is a huge hindrance in my plans. I'd left the goddamn piece of shit in school on Saturday by accident. Fuck, that's the third time these two months! Darn that, and the fact that I wrote stuff in that notebook that I normally wouldn't have permitted anybody else to read.
Today I was reading Nights at Kainan for some reason. It was actually pretty interesting until Chapter 7. Chapters 8 through 17 are utterly boring, and I think I'd attribute that to my sudden change in writing style. I liked Chapters 5 and 6 the most because they were nostalgic. I've spent months brooding over Ryonan's loss to Shohoku, and hoping for someone to--someday--write a fic or something where Shohoku gets walloped by Ryonan, and all I had to do was read my own story. Talk about irony. I want to introduce such a game in my latest multi-chap--the oh so famous and popular 'What Would We Do Without You?'--but this time write it in more detail so I can savor it later on when I decide I'm feeling nostalgic again. Well, I'll have to stow away all these notions until better times; that is to say, until after my exams get over. Then I can spend the short little winter vacation catching up on lost FFnet time. Yeah, you could say I'm obsessed; effusively obsessed.
Then there's the question of this other test I'm supposed to be taking toward the end of this month: the 28th, to be precise. It's one of those competetive exams that pop out of nowhere like a mushroom after a rainstorm (seriously gotta think of a better simile--this one's effing cliched already!), but different in the sense that it's conducted by this institution where I'm planning on going for my 11th and 12th grades, and already go for the 11th and 12th grade prep, so apparently I'll get automatic admission into the place if I score within the first 100 ranks. That, to be honest, is more than highly impossible. But at the same time, I'd much rather get admission this way than by having to sit for that excruciating four-hour test. Right. Let's just go over what I have to study for this particular test: the entire course I signed up for the prep, which just happens to comprise eight frigging books of math, physics and chemistry. Talk about hard luck.
