more of an excuse...

Nobody can possibly be as surprised as I when I say that today I've turned in every last one of my three pending projects. I can honestly not believe it. I started doing those goddamn things last May, and even the faintest suggestion of it leaving my desk still makes me doubt that it's all not a dream. Anyway, this means that I don't have a SINGLE project left to do. I can practically forget such a word even existed. But since knowledge is power and Man learns from his mistakes, I'd rather not forget. When you get down to the point, the only part of Internal Assessment I have left are my physics records, but that's entirely the teacher's responsibility, and if that smartass pseudo-Einstein thinks he can finish off demonstrating another 5 or so experiments in these two weeks that we have AND finish off a whole goddamn chapter, I'd have to say he's either hoplessly optimistic or incorrigibly overconfident of his abilities as a teacher. I mean, he's being paid for physics! So what right or need has he to dabble in chemistry and biology and show off the profound amounts of knowledge he's collected over the years of his showing off to college students, and then unleash that onto us and expect us to absorb all that? I mean, fine, I grant he's a good teacher, and outside the classroom a good person as well. At least to me. And don't get me wrong, that's only because both of hail from the same part of India: Bengal. I've noticed that Bengali people have strong communal ties with each other, and that if a Bengali person meets another Bengali person outside of Bengal, they'd be friends instantly. Same here, actually. The Physics Professor behaved with me like he would with any other of his students until he found out that by some misplaced play of fate I was from the same state as he. And then weird stuff started to happen, and he started talking with me in Bengali, and I, under compulsion had to talk in Bengali as well. And one fine day he calls up my dad (He'd asked for his number earlier) and invites him over to his house for lunch! How fucked up is that? A physics professor inviting your dad over for lunch JUST BECAUSE YOU HAPPEN TO BE FROM THE SAME STATE AS HE IS!

Anyway, I don't know what else to say. My last Prefinals (exams) are starting February 2, which gives me a lot less time than I would've been comfortable with, and which also means that I have to put on as much extra effort. The saddest part is that we have EVERYTHING for these tests and I haven't started ANYTHING yet, unless you count what remains in my head from the last exams. The last bit, just for the record, amounts to just short of nil. There can be no two opinions about this: I have to study my ass off these two weeks, and if that ain't enough, my arms and my legs and finally, if all proves vain, even my freaking head. And that's when I'll have literally 'lost it'.

Studies have taken their toll on my writing as well. I haven't been able to find time to write anything significant for quite a long time. Just for the record, my most recent update was something I'd already written before, so yeah: I haven't written anything significant in quite a long time. My prose's getting extremely rusty and one of the only reasons I'm wasting my time in writing out this frigging post is so that I can find some excuse to write. And yeah, I've proved to myself and everybody else that my prose has indeed lost everything it stood for and all its worth.
