I hate how unprepared I am for tomorrow. I’m not talking about the test, for which I studied earlier, but about the rest of the day. All my other friends have their own plans; I’m the only one without one. Inevitably, I’ll be dragged into something; I’m sure. It always happens like that. As for plans for plans, I have something in mind: going to a movie. I’ll be taking a couple of my friends to the movies tomorrow after the test... maybe sometime in the evening. Which movie it’ll be, I don’t know yet. My dad’s going to buy the tickets, and tomorrow we’ll be buzzing off to that movie. I’m not looking forward to being with my friends as much as watching the movie. That’s a queer aspect of my nature. I could go and watch the movie all alone and have just as much fun. I don’t really need company. Especially when it’s obtrusive and boisterous. The friends in question have ample amounts of both these qualities, and since I like peace and quiet more than anything, I’m going to have a hard time tomorrow. Now, I’m not saying that those two are not my friends, because saying so would render me hypocritical and ungrateful. They are friends, and close ones, at that. But sometimes you just need some free time all by yourself. Sometimes you need to stay away from the general babble and recuperate from all the stress your exams visited on you. I would have liked to spend some time alone with my computer, but it doesn’t appear as though I’d be able to do so. In retrospect, my thoughts (as written here) appear paradoxical. I disclaim any significance whatsoever of this paragraph. Its purpose is merely to fulfill my compulsive urge to write something, even if it’s a crappy blog post, and to sort out my thoughts, which are so trivial that I’m almost ashamed to have dwelled on them for this long. At any rate, I’m going to the movies with said friends tomorrow, and it doesn’t seem as though that’s likely to change. And I’m not asking for change. I’m asking for nothing.
That said, I’m returning to a topic a little nearer the present: my geography exam. Predictably, it’s going to be hard. Harder than the test we were originally supposed to take—back on March 25. It’s an inevitable thing, really. I can almost picture a dozen faceless Board people sitting in a conference room and laughing sadistically because they’ve made what is probably the hardest geography test in history to punish students for their brazenness. I’m not about to go on a rant about those assholes in Bangalore: doing so would take up several pages, and more time than I’m willing to spare for this post. All I’m saying is that I’m expecting a really hard test tomorrow (and my apprehensions are well-founded) so I should study correspondingly harder. And let’s see... I’m planning on skipping 3-4 chapters because they’re stupid and dreary and I have no time for shit like them. I’ll concentrate on the latter half of the book because it’s hard and seemingly important and I don’t know it very well. Apart from that, I need to practice topography as well as normal maps. I’ve got my work cut out for me, or so it seems. The only consolation I have at this point is that I won’t have to study for a good period of time starting tomorrow. Meaning, my dad isn’t going to pester me to get off the computer even if I’m sitting at it the whole day. And of course, there’s the general array of summer activities waiting: swimming, etc. So yeah, there’s a lot to look forward to. And now I’m beginning to brood, because if it weren’t for that incident (refer to the post before the last), I would have been enjoying all that already.
Tomorrow at this time, I’ll have officially finished a month of exams. What a depressing thought.
