disoriented

Today was so gosh-awfully boring that when I got up at 8 a.m., sat down at the computer for a couple of minutes and looked up at the clock, it was already 11. Where did I go wrong? And to top all that, despite the fact that the temperature’s still hovering around the 40 degrees Celsius mark, the humidity has increased by 110% over the past few days. It’s so sultry that I have to keep the air-conditioner on all day if I want to breathe properly.

I’ve signed up for piano lessons, and at 5 p.m. today I’ll be attending my second class. I had to go to the music store this afternoon (I just returned from there) and buy a piano book (I’m not saying which grade for fear of being ridiculed). Trust me: 3 p.m. is a terrible time to go outside when you’re living in this country, and the only thing that’s worse is 2 p.m. So I opened my front door and walked outside like the presumptuous bastard that I am. And then this gigantic blast of hot air hit me like a hurricane and nearly knocked the living crap out of me. Even in the car—with the air-conditioner on high—it took me around ten minutes to get over said blast of heat. What’s worse is that the music store I was going to is located in a remote corner of this large city, so the trip there took no less than 20 minutes, and that was only because of the enhanced road systems (with this 6-lane road in one place and several overpasses). Damn the fact that the tinted windows of my car aren’t dark enough. For the entire trip to the place, the sun was practically staring right at me. It was disorienting. But on the bright side, it took only 20 minutes (and I’m kinda contradicting myself). About 5 years ago, it would have taken... 5 years to get there.

Can’t write any more than this. My head’s all messed up because of the heat outside, and I need to spend at least 3 hours in a heavily air-conditioned room to recover.
