i'm blathering here

My exams got over a couple of days ago, so I think I should start there. First off, the geography test was freaking easy. It was so easy that I actually smiled to myself after reading through the paper. My apprehensions proved pointless. Even the topographic map and the normal map were easy. In the former section, there wasn’t even a single question based on bearing, which is among the more important topics in topography. The previous day, my teacher had called me up and asked me to practice bearing. Needless to say, I didn’t. This wasn’t because I have an innate tendency to disregard advice of any kind, but rather because I thought bearing was considerably easy. A more subtle reason would be that I was much too lazy. At any rate, I guess if I had practiced bearing, I’d have wasted precious time. So my indolence turned out to be a good thing in the end.

After the test, I called a couple of my friends from school over. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have been so hospitable. I don’t like people coming over to my house unless it’s a matter of life or death, or I’m really bored. Neither was the case that day. But it was fun, nonetheless. So anyway, I took them to the movies to watch The Pink Panther 2. After the movie, I bought this book called ‘Simple Genius’ by David Baldacci. So far, it’s failed to impress me. The chapters are pathetically short (reminding one of the works of a mentally retarded five-year-old), and the author has failed to build a strong character base for the story. The language is nothing great, either. The idea (if any) sucks. In short, I could have put my money to better use.

Yesterday I went over to my best friend’s house for lunch. Because of this Boards nonsense, the last time I visited her at her house was in November. We watched this movie in her home theater—Partner. It’s a Hindi movie. It sucked so much that they should seriously ban that movie: There was no plot at all; there were tiny twists in places that were resolved magically even before one could register them; they cheated the viewers entirely of the promised ‘humor’; and so forth. I was unimpressed by the movie, I was repulsed by the songs, and I was ticked off by how long the movie was. There ends that. I should warn everyone I know against watching that movie. Then again, it’s not exactly new, so I guess the viewing is basically over.

This morning I went to another friend’s house because there was this religious festival thing, about which I failed to understand a thing. That event took around an hour or two to get over. There was this puja thing, and a priest who was saying something in a language I didn’t know (literally), and that’s all I can remember. I wasn’t paying much attention to the real thing. I was shifting between conversing with my friends (who thankfully happened to be there, as well), and perambulating in that particular complex. It was my first time there.

Today I also cleaned up my bedroom, which is a major achievement on my part. I owe it partially to boredom, and partially to the fact that the junk lying everywhere was pissing me off. So I cleaned it up as well as I could, and I also cleaned my desk and my cabinets, which had useless pieces of paper and other junk stuffed in them for the past three years or so. I filled three trash bags with said junk.

On this note, I’ll wrap this post up.
