The primary (and possibly, the only) reason I haven’t been updating my blog as frequently as I used to, or with posts that make the slightest bit of sense is the fact that I’ve been feeling lazy as hell. I suppose I could attribute that to this certain course in robotics that I’ve signed up for. It’s a five-day course, and today was the fourth. The company that hosts this course claims to be India’s first nationalized institute, and yet, before I signed up for it, I hadn’t even heard of it, and wouldn’t have given a shit about it if I had. Not that I give a shit now. But whatever. The fact is that I signed up for it, and the reason behind it is that my friends were going, and not that I have any interest in robotics at all—as a profession or otherwise. I mean, fine, robots are cool, in a way: they’re really neat, especially when they bear resemblance to the ones you’re wont to see in sci-fi movies and such. All that’s great, but I honestly don’t care what sort of stuff goes on inside them. I don’t care if it’s a Light Emitting Diode that’s on the whatever part of its motherboard, or a NPN transistor, or a PNP transistor, and what not. I don’t give a shit about the DIP switches or the potentiometer or the whatever not. I wasn’t paying much attention to the dude who was conducting the course, or I would have listed out at least a hundred weird electrical parts. All that’s good to know, I guess, from the point of view of physics, since physics is going to be one of my primary subjects in the 11th grade, and electricity is an essential part of it. But I just can’t seem to envisage myself creating robots and such stuff during an exam. And I’m certainly going to spend my life doing something more useful and something that pays more than making robots. But hell, the classes were fun, I’ll admit. Especially today. These two kids (the course was for people from the 5th to 12th grade—imagine that) got into a physical fight and the rest of us (there were some 24 people in the course) were egging them on, and shooting provocative remarks at them to sort of make the fight more heated. Yeah, it was entertaining watching those two 6th graders go for each other’s throats and then reconciling in a flash and telling the incredulous spectators that there was nothing wrong between them in the first place, so why should they fight? One of them added that the two of them ‘worked together’. I didn’t want the fun to end just yet, so I used the phrase ‘working together’ to insinuate something that only a yaoi fan or someone mentally sharp would understand at first glance. Those two boys had a hard time defending their sexuality (whatever it was) from the rest of the people in the course, who were only too enthusiastic in teasing the hell out of them. Yes, it was fun: in a sadistic way. But I’ve always been sadist, and everyone knows that.
I’ve been eating a lot of outside food in the past one week. First I went to this Chinese restaurant for lunch with a couple of my friends (and our moms, of course), and stuffed myself to the point of having to skip dinner if I didn’t want my weight to augment by 5 pounds. I had restaurant food a couple more times after that. So yeah, I have to go on a diet for the rest of the year. It shouldn’t be too hard, since I already have anorexic tendencies. Oh yeah, and I have to go swimming. Ever since I came down with a fever last week (from which I’ve long since recovered), I haven’t gone swimming (to the club, of course, since the sea’s only too far from this city I’m living in for comfort). I’m planning on restarting as soon as this robotics course of mine gets over. Which is tomorrow. I’m planning on going swimming tomorrow.
