I think I did reasonably well on the Reshuffling Test. Both papers were a lot easier than I had expected, and when I got them I almost laughed in relief. Or maybe it was just an effect of my having actually studied this time. Either way, I think my performance should (according to my estimation) be satisfactory, and hopefully I’ll land in the second batch (at least). The results are slated to come back tomorrow, so until then my fingers are crossed.
As regards the whole solar eclipse thing, I wasn’t half as enthusiastic as everyone around me was. Maybe because I’ve had previous experience with such things, and knew that nobody here was going to get so much as half a glimpse of it, if such a thing were even possible. My brother set the alarm to six in the morning despite my telling him that nothing good will come of it, and guess what? I was right. Today happened to be one of the cloudiest days I’ve seen this year, and even after the scheduled time for the eclipse to show up in this city passed, it was too cloudy to see the sun. Most of the schools and colleges in this city were closed today, and the rest changed their timings. I don’t know if it has as much to do with giving people a chance to see the eclipse than some stupid superstition associated with the occurrence. The thing about this country is that every conceivable action or event or other things seems to have a stupid superstition connected with it. Even in the cities. Pretty lame if you ask me. I laugh out loud whenever I hear people quoting their misguided beliefs to me in a miserable attempt at eliciting something akin to the reaction normally expected of people who are too absorbed in their fear of forgotten things to come anywhere close to thinking rationally. Which is why I don’t like religion. It preaches so much about things that are so far from reality that stagnation of development is but inevitable.

i had no idea there was supposed to be an eclipse. and hell, what superstition could come out of a fucking eclipse? old testament's ten plagues? too primitive if you ask me.
apparently it's supposed to be a bad omen... apparently you're supposed to lock yourself in your room all day and have to take a bath whenever you come out... thank goodness my folks are rational.
haha lucky you...my grandmom went all hyper about the eclipse and forbid my overly-excited brother from watching ... anyways he slept right through the the whole thing.
^^ i woke up though-- not that i had planned to-- and saw that it was dark outside.so yeah, i 'saw' the eclipse..
my brother was up from 5 and said it was all cloudy hahaha
