indignation and elation

What the heck were those anime writers thinking when they came up with Episode 240??? I’d kill to know what compelled them to make Byakuya abandon all those exalted, noble qualities that he professed to possess since time immemorial all in the interest of preserving his Family’s honor, and join ranks with Muramasa, a personality-deficit, decaying, pitiful Zanpakuto, who even alluded to the fact that Byakuya wasn’t under the insidious spell that he used to free all the Zanpakuto. Meaning Byakuya found some reason to voluntarily side with that retard that was good enough for him to become a total hypocrite in order to achieve this end. Sneaking around and attacking low-ranking Soul Reapers, abandoning his haori, collaborating with the bad guys as equals—that is so not Byakuya. It’s a miserable, damnable perversion the anime writers came up with in order to consummate their dubious plot. Ichigo’s face when Byakuya revealed his present allegiances was worth beholding, since it was a mirror-image of my own. The looks of indignation and disgust (!) on the faces of Rangiku and Momo, who were standing nearby, were disturbing. I just can’t reconcile this alien Byakuya with the one that’s in the picture on top. This had better turn out to be some sort of super-secret plot the Captain of the Sixth Squad had in mind to finish the enemy off, because that’s the only logical explanation to all this. But I still don’t get why he would risk inviting the anger of the Soul Society and obloquy that would inevitably come with the questionable appearance of his activities that were questionable in their own right. Oh, right. Because the Head Captain’s gone missing—he chose the perfect time. Maybe it was his plan right from the start? It’s conceivable, and indubitably more pleasant than the idea of Byakuya actually siding with the bad guys, even though I know this whole thing will somehow be resolved in the end, this being a filler arc and all. It’s still so disturbing to see Byakuya like this. Jeez, the very thought that I have to wait until next Wednesday for any hope of enlightenment is making me bristle with impatience.

The last time I mentioned I managed to play the Cado of Scherzo No. 3. Today I went beyond that and actually played the first page—six whole lines—including this octave passage that is really, really hard. Of course, there’s much, much room for practice and perfection, and those will come automatically with time. It turns out that the reason I wasn’t able to play it the first time was that I had failed to notice the small, almost invisible (unless you really, really look at it) bass clef sign in the first line. Meaning I was playing the notes that were meant to be played by the right hand in the right hand notation, when I was supposed to play what they were in the left hand notation. It’s pretty silly of me, since I actually thought of this possibility when the notes I played didn’t sound anything like the real thing, but still failed to notice it. Anyway, I played it today, and am thus elated.

~.~ I know that feels-- one of my all-time fave characters turned bad one day and I was left staring open-mouthed and aghast. I was like $&@*#%*!!!!! All the amazing awesome-ness and attitude I'd worshipped till then just disappeared?? How could someone so noble and awfully mature fall so low? So yeah I very much understand how you feel =/ I hope, as usual, that he (byakuya in this case) has something up his sleeve and is .. I donno, helping soul society? :| it's not like I'm not already pissed about him completely disappearing from the scene and not reading about him since AGES-- I don't even know what chapter he turned up in last-- probably the turn back the pendulum thing... Anyways I ended up saying a lot more than I meant to =P
