FanFiction.Net is getting stupider by the day. It looks as if all this adding new features business has gone to their heads, and they'll keep at this until FFN starts changing faster than George Bush in the closet on a winter morning. A digression: remember what I said about inventing and then patenting phrases for fame and glory? I've started on that. The one you see here means "to change really rapidly." Feel free to use it. Oh, and if you go to FIITJEE, I would recommend using them in GK's classes. End of digression. FanFiction.Net has degenerated over the months into a laughable mess, the result of an attempt to acheive efficiency going terribly wrong.
The first of the latest changes they made is the fact that visiting a category now would automatically display fics of all languages; you would need to select English to get rid of the hoards of distractingly untelligible stories from the page. That's right; English is no longer the default language of FFN -- there is no default language, and you can't select one. If one of the goofballs working for FFN happens to come across this blog, as unlikely as that is, seeing how wrapped up they are in contriving ways by which to make FFN appear speciously advanced, I would suggest that he start working on enabling users to select a default language pronto. It would save us a lot of time and energy, and not titillate our more violent emotions, if we could once again type in the address for the category and NOT have to select English as our choice of language immediately after that. What is this supposed to be, cultural intermingling under duress? Oh, please.
The second significant instance in which these guys have exhibited a shocking lack of shrewdness is when they added this new feature which forcibly redirects you to FFN Mobile, and then only as an option takes you to the regular site. What's even more astonishing is how they're promoting negative ideas disguised behind a bad sense of humor. Sure, a lot of people, parents mainly, would agree that FFN doesn't exactly help its users concentrate on schoolwork, especially when it becomes an addiction, but saying something like, "For... all the creative minds stuck in a terribly exciting lecture/corporate meeting," is a bit over the limit, don't you think? Fine, maybe I'm nitpicking here, but still.
So we can all agree that we've got new reasons not to use FFN anymore, the old ones being the usual cliches: the fics people upload are too crass, the fact that it's no longer the vogue to review stories that are actually good, etc. Fan fiction has become so boring now. Oh well.

agreed. the whole thing's becoming less and less user-friendly as it ages. oh well. you're right, all the more reason not to subscribe to it anymore.
yeah.. plus i've been feeling extremely lethargic lately... maybe it'll change once school reopens after this 20-day break they so generously gave us gets over. yeah. i've practically lost interest in ffn.
