Phase Test V… Not so great. It wasn’t just the fact that some of the questions (especially in chemistry) were ones that I scarcely knew what to do with, but the overall difficulty. I might have been able to do most of them under non-testing conditions, like in the comfort of my bedroom rather than in the messed-up FIITJEE classroom, but face it: Doing well under messed-up conditions is what living in India connotes – for those who do well at all, obviously. But I digress. There is just something – something inexplicable about the FIITJEE classrooms that brings out the worst in you – especially if you, like me, are the kind of person who can’t adapt to crappy conditions very easily. Inflexible is right. And I haven’t even started on Jenny’s treachery. He clearly said – several times – that the physics paper was very easy – verbatim. Sure, Paper I managed to lull me into dropping my guard and believing that Jenny was telling the truth; but when Paper II came along, I completely changed my opinion. I decided right there that Jenny was a conniving little liar, a misanthrope who deliberately misled students because he enjoyed it when they came complaining to him about how hard the test was. But I would rather not believe this, since Jenny doesn’t seem a malevolent person from any angle. Which means that he was either plain ignorant about the test, or exaggerating when he said, “it’s very easy – very easy.”
.
On another note, I scored a 5 (the highest score) on the AP Physics C: Mechanics test I took in May, despite the fact that I thought I’d totally flunked it. Preconceptions, apparently, must bow to trends. Their scoring scheme seems to be exceedingly liberal. A five, and without having taken the course, at that. I don’t want to sound like I’m boasting, but I’m glad. After the test I told Dad I hadn’t done too well, and he made that sound – a cross between tut-tut and pchw – to show that he was disappointed… So yeah, this makes me feel good.

I came across this show called Judge Judy on YouTube yesterday, and it’s amazing. I wonder why I’d never heard of it before. The judge is real, the plaintiffs are real, and the cases are real. The cases are usually related to domestic disputes, and petty crimes, such as violence, scamming, bullying, stealing, damaging property, and the like. The truly riveting feature of the show is Judge Judy’s attitude. She’s a judge with an attitude – and wit. You could call it strictness, but it’s different: It’s like it’s in her nature to be that overbearing. It certainly helps, especially in dealing with recalcitrant people. And it’s extremely fun to watch, in a sadistic sort of way. It makes you want to deal with the annoying people at school in the same way.
.
And again, Bleach has become completely boring. The plot is such a drag that it can’t even be called a plot anymore. I’m only reading it because I’m hoping something good will happen soon. If Tite Kubo can’t come up with anything interesting, he should switch over to the Yammi-Byakuya-Zaraki battle until he manages to do so. Don Kanoji made his unwelcome appearance in 411; all that was there to the latest chapter was a stupid question Rangiku asked, and the subsequent stab in the chest she got from Gin. Who honestly cares about Gin’s reasons for joining Aizen? Frankly, Rangiku’s not being a major character seriously makes it impossible for anyone to sympathize with her. And as far as everyone’s concerned, Gin is just Aizen’s really weak and stupid underling. If Kubo’s intention was to add a romantic twist to the story in an attempt to salvage its dying plotline, he should have gone for something at least fractionally more interesting. There is absolutely no appeal in reading about Don Kanoji running away from Aizen (and oh, does he look a complete DOUCHEBAG) with Tatsuke, while Gin stabs Rangiku in the background. And the chapter doesn’t even end in a cliffhanger.
.
As a result, I’ve gone back to watching Slam Dunk. It’s much nicer. Not just because the plot is definitive and concise, and actually has direction, but because it’s nostalgic, in a way. I’m glad Animax is airing it. Indian channels are usually infuriatingly annoying when they keep airing the same season of a show over and over again, but it’s helpful when you’re watching a one-season show. As you might have noticed, I’ve changed my layout. The Slam Dunk phase is back. Although my interest in fan fiction isn’t. It’s all for the better, I guess. It’s infinitely more dignified to retire from a website that keeps going from bad to worse than to persistently try to delude yourself that it isn’t, and ultimately realize the same thing. Although it really awakens the flamer in you, doesn’t it? For those of you who don’t know, I’ve created an account called The Dark Tangent solely to flame. I figured Kaiser Washington’s reputation had suffered enough. Objectivists would kill me, if they heard me talk about reputation. Although the idea of Objectivists killing itself goes against the principles of Objectivism.

Jenny is a BIG FAT LIARRRR!!
'nuff said.
Ooh, congrats! A 5 is really awesome =)
I've heard of Judge Judy, but never watched her. Maybe I'll check out an episode or two today?
Totally agree about Bleach-- but you know that already. Oh, I have to check out today's chapter!
Don't forget the streak of pride. He's always like, "If you do what I say, you'll definitely get through." Still, I guess not listening to him wouldn't be worth it. And about the deranged phase planning thing Lenny was hinting at... it's freaky!! And to think I thought Phase 5 was tight...
So here's Nanochip's latest lie: he told me he scored a 5 on the AP, but when I asked the guy at Paramount, he said he'd scored ... ... a 2. How pathetic, really.
So what else? Man, I screwed up big time on the phase test. During an idle test analysis (which I did at FIITJEE -- not at home, contrary to what the omniscient Jenny asked us to do), I realized that I could have done a whole 18 marks worth of questions correctly, if I had just taken the time to read them through, and not been intimidated by the space they took. It's depressing, because about 10 of those marks were in physics. XSSS
And the phase test rant continues. You can skip this, if you want to.
I thought math would go well, because I actually practiced more questions than I'd ever done in 1st year, but it didn't, because my mind somehow, inexplicably became blank during the test. Afterward, I was like, I knew how to do that sum! It's so frustrating, so annoying... And in chemistry... I'm thinking I should develop the habit of actually writing out whole reactions instead of just trying to guess their outcomes... even though I generally feel too lazy to do so. Oh, and did I say 18 up there? Make that 20+. I just realized there was a hoard of other questions I could have done in chemistry that I didn't do because I failed to analyze them properly. And it's shocking how strikingly similar I sounded like Benny just then...
Oh, well. At least the rest of you did well -- better than I did, anyway. If I don't do well in phase 6, then i'll know there's something seriously wrong with me.
Apart from that, I think I'm going crazy. I almost broke the telephone today when my grandfather asked me to fix his TV. I also incurred some non-serious head injuries for the same reason. Banging your head on the wall is more helpful than people want you to believe, you know.
Have I said that much already? Ahh.. K, see ya tomorrow, then,.
OMG! You are The Dark Tangent? Hahahaha!
No wonder then why that flamer makes a lot of sense. I was beginning to think hat it was Bet You Love That or somebody else. Thanks for clearing that up. Hahaha!
that*
yeah, i am the dark tangent :)
