I just realized how vapid my last entry was. It almost sounded existentialist - minus, of course, the sarcasm, which can and will never leave me. Today's entry will be markedly livlier, unless I die halfway through writing it, which, although not impossible, certainly is improbable. I will also stuff each paragraph with verbose, irrelevant lines, so that this entry doesn't look as emaciated as the last one. Succinctness is something I have never believed in. Who needs to be miserly with words, when they can use them freely to obfuscate every idea in their writings, and thus protect the fruits of their minds from intellectually handicapped bonobos like Arnab Goswami from Times Now? (As much as I hate that Neanderthal, I will confess that the only reason why I mentioned him here is that I wanted to make the first paragraph sufficiently long before moving on to the next, and I will also confess that that is the purpose of this parenthetical note, too.)
On to more relevant things now. The Board Exams started today, as I mentioned in my last entry, with the French exam. I think I did well in it, and obviously I hope I'm not wrong. The last thing I would want is to get a lower score than I did last time - 94%. Not that 94 is low, of course. I'm hoping to score upwards of 90 in this test, despite the fact that my essay was amateurish and lame. The topic was... FOOD. Some of my sentences were as lame as, "I like food," and "If you're on a diet, don't eat too much!" Hopefully, the examiner will have the mental adeptness of Arnab Goswami. Speaking of whom, I just heard a thud in my back yard. I think the dish antenna needed to get Times Now out of its system.
My exam center this time was a school called "St. Georges Boys Junior College". If you put apostrophes in the right places, it will look offensively funny: "St. George's Boys' Junior College". As if St. George, who I assume was a cellibate, had boys. Unfortunately, we will never know the truth. Regardless, this center is a serious improvement over that Shadan cesspool I was imprisoned in last time. (Read all about that experience here!) The classrooms were well lit and well ventilated; the place didn't have an overpowering suggestion of malevolence, despite the floor-to ceiling iron grilles one found randomly everywhere in the building; and the proctors were pretty cordial. The only downside was that the benches were almost unbearably uncomfortable. My knees had almost died by the time I finished the French test. But at least the benches were not metallic like the ones at Shadan. "Weird" is too weak a word to describe them.
On a last note, in that jumbled words question (yes, it's childish, I know), I had no clue what HUCO could mean. My first, second, ..., and tenth impulses were to write "OUCH", but then I thought the examiner would get an unfavorable impression of my character, feel offended, and start being mean. So I displaced O to the end of the word, and wrote "UCHO". Then I thought, that couldn't be right, so I displaced U to the end, and wrote "CHOU", and apparently that's the answer. Chou = Cabbage. Have I ever mentioned that I hate cabbage?
