fact file

The Board Exams will start on the 8th. I remember making a similar entry last year, in which I wrote about how I couldn't believe the BOARD EXAMS had actually started, when I had grown up with the notion that the Board Exams were so important that students were supposed to start shivering in their boots months before the exams actually began. I experienced no such impulse last year; I experienced no such impulse this year. Have the Board Exams lost the respect and prestige they enjoyed back in the olden days? Or is it just a case of disillusionment? Here are the details: I have my French exam on Tuesday. I realized yesterday that I knew next to nothing. But in my defense, the JEE took precedence over the Boards. Plus a total loser of a teacher like BS was assigned to teach us French this year.

So let's see. This is the first time since I made this blog that I went an entire month without posting an entry. As a result, consistency is something that you should not expect to find here anymore. There are a few facts that need to be recorded, and I will do just that: nothing more; nothing less. I've decided not to concern myself with trivialities like paragraphing and such anymore - at least until April.

Fact No. 1: UIUC admitted me to their CS program. Apparently that isn't bad, but I still think it isn't anything special. It's embarrassing when my parents tell that to my friends' parents, since most of my college-going friends are Ivy Leaguers. Well, I've applied to two Ivy League schools. It would be amazing if they admitted me, but the chances are low. Much like Stanford's - possibly worse. All the other decisions will be coming in sometime this month.

Fact No. 2: I've changed my blog layout back to the Byakuya Kuchiki thing, as anyone with a pair of eyes and a good memory will have noticed. The reason why I did it is - believe it or not - that I had a dream a couple of weeks ago, in which Yamamoto climbed out of a marble tomb - much like Dumbledore's - and defeated this evil woman character, who appeared to be one of the antagonists in Fairy Tail. Then I realized that I shouldn't be taking out my frustration at Kubo's incompetence in writing the present arc on the great characters and stories he created earlier. I have decided to start watching Bleach again in the summer, and stop exactly at the point where Aizen is defeated. Maybe I'll stop before that, considering that Kubo's imagination started going beserk around then.

Fact No. 3: I deleted my Shelfari account. It took me two seconds to decide. When they prompted me to log in with my Amazon ID, or with my Shelfari ID "for now", I was annoyed. I didn't have an Amazon account, and didn't intend to make one just for insignificant little Shelfari. It simply wasn't worth it. I would be doing Amazon a great disservice, if I made an account just for miserable little Shelfari. So what if Amazon acquired it? It doesn't mean that you force all the present users to merge their Shelfari accounts with their Amazon accounts. That's just not done. Look at Google, for instance. You don't need a Google account to have a YouTube or a Blogger account. At any rate, Shelfari won't be missed. This episode made me realize that the Internet world can never be a substitute for the real world. DIE, SOLIPSISTS!

Fact No. 4: I haven't written a fan fiction story since September 2010. I haven't written anything else, for that matter, unless you count that mawkish poem I wrote for that Fairy Tail character, and the gravedigger story. I find that my muse is no longer as accessible as it used to be. I don't know, or think, that it's a consequence of the whole FIITJEE experience, although FIITJEE would certainly be a fitting scapegoat, what with all their garbage about "experiencing success in a confident way".

Fact No. 5: I am going to end this entry here. I've already run out of inspiration.

Do I hear a someone who's devoutly biased towards Microsoft commending Google?

Loyal to Microsoft though I may be, I recognize greatness when I see it.

On a different note, what would you say if I told you I was considering reactivating my FB account again, without re-deactivating it shortly afterwards? Apparently my breaking point is further than I thought it was.

Well, actually, that urge has left me again now.
