I love the 'after' pictures! That's one heck of a cleanup. I'm looking forward to the time I'll do the same =D Two more weeks, and I'll be done~!
If I try taking similar pictures for the 'before' scene, I'll need a 360 degree photo ~.~ My room has books everywhere -- five stacks next to my bed plus several rows on my desk, not to mention on my bookshelf as well.
IITJEE is detrimental to the environment. FIITJEE is detrimental to health. India's education system is detrimental to humanity. -_-
It's always interesting to compare. Looking forward to when you put the pictures up. But will you be able to clean up your room in time for the "after" pictures? Ha ha ha...
True, these two years were a student's nightmare. Someday in the future, I see myself grinning at the expressions on people's faces when I tell them about the FFE.
And we didn't even do what we were supposed to, as most of the kids (some peopole object to my using the word "kids" to refer to those who are soon to be or already are adults, but I think the condescension is fitting) of Grignard and VS did. I will actually, almost genuinely feel bad for them if they don't get into IIT. It doesn't seem like they ever had much of a choice. What's sad is that the sixth grader in that video I told you of did not mind sacrificing his summer break (and here, it really is a sacrifice) to go to FIITJEE every day. Both he and his mother thought it best that he study instead of playing - and apparently, by some weird logic, his ranking second in Tamil Nadu in some talent exam justified this. Ramam may foolishly believe that a kid's brain is ready by the age of eleven for the rigors of IIT coaching, but I don't think it will make much difference in the end. I don't have much else to say on the topic. The FFE has hardened me, and now I fail to be moved by even the most flagrant displays of stupidity.
