How about another one of those summaries in the guise of a review? For old times' sake? Chapter 552 was truly interesting. Don't read past this, if you're not up to date and don't want to spoil it for yourself. Urahara's presence is always hopeful, and this time, with characteristic brilliance, he seems to have come up with a way to get back the captains' stolen Bankais. An interesting point about the Quincies' enmity with Hollows was made, as well: Hollows are poison to Quincies. Meaning there is room yet for the return of certain Arrancar who were never shown to have died. If that happens, and they choose to fight alongside the Soul Reapers, it will be as if that crappy, fucked-up fanfic I wrote way back in 2009, after Ulquiorra's death, were in some way premonitory. That fic was supposed to represent an alternate universe in Bleach where the Hollows and the Soul Reapers had to team up against their common enemy, the Quincies. I did that because I wanted my two favorite characters, Byakuya and Ulquiorra, to be alive - and now look at Kubo, sitting there behind his desk, giggling to himself, thinking he has come up with something original. Well, apparently... it was my idea. I should write him, and put in a good word for Ulquiorra, to see if he might be willing to use his deus-ex-machina powers to bring him back to life. And another word on the manga. Things are looking up for us fans, because we haven't seen Ichigo in several chapters. The last we saw of him he was dilly-dallying with those positively ridiculous Squad 0 persons, with Renji and Rukia realizing some profound sexual tensions somewhere else, and Byakuya relaxing regally at a hot spring.
