an obituary of a tree

I planted this particular tree in our yard in India in 2007. I got it at school on Vanamahotsav, and it was nearly seven years old when it fell in the storm last night. On examining the pictures of the aftermath, it appears that the root system did not extend very far underground, notwithstanding the impressive height the tree had reached. It is perhaps a little poetic, in light of the fact that this comes just a month after my parents moved out of that noble house. Rest in peace, young tree. You shall be remembered forever. The following are the pictures alluded to above, taken by the people managing the property in our absence.

Am I to understand that your gardener is equipped with a camera phone and is, more surprisingly, well versed with the Internet and email an so on?

Nah, these were taken by the dude who supervises the waterproofing work (which is still going on, by the way). The gardener still lives there, and is being paid to look after the garden, but obviously the little fuck is not doing his job. Look at the lawn!
