political commentary and more important things, namely anything else

It has transpired that Rajmohan Gandhi joined the Aam Admi Party (Mango Man's Party) sometime ago. That must be why he never responded to my emails. He had said at our last meeting two years ago that he would not be returning, but I hadn't suspected him of any political ambitions. I don't follow Indian politics, but I hear that that short-lived party has been the victim of numerous misfortunes lately, not least of which is the fact that its flamboyant leader has been thrown into jail by the seat of his pants like a common criminal. It's just as well. I never liked Mr. Kejriwal. He always seemed so slimy and untrustworthy. The slew of animadversions that people, including Mr. K, have constantly subjected him to on the Internet has been well deserved. I am curious--and who can help being curious?--to see how India's new Prime Minister turns out.

On a different note, I have decided to make this blog a shrine with a limited audience to such musical compositions as I may hastily pen down from time to time, when I feel, perhaps mistakenly, seized by an artistic afflatus. Feel free to download, print, and attempt to play these occasionally inspired pieces (I haven't made an attempt on any of them myself, so I don't know if they are pianistic), or roll your eyes at my pretentiousness. We all need something to distract ourselves with when we feel unequal to the challenges of the world, or become sensible of some innate flaw in us which thwarts us in our pursuit of excellence.

My piano will arrive no sooner than the end of July, with the rest of the sea consignment. This gives me a perfect opportunity to focus on the project I'm supposed to be working on. Incidentally I had a half-hour Skype conference with the other undergraduate in the research group on Tuesday, in which we pretty much wondered aloud which parts of the source code we had to be familiar with, and attempted to formulate questions to ask the professor. The source code itself is substantial, and as with any piece of code that one hasn't written and that hasn't been written according to the principles of CS 242, understanding it is a little difficult.
