Ghost Town (2009) [sort of a review]

I'm only reviewing this movie, after a fashion, because I'm bored. If you've seen this movie, you will know that there really is no need to review it, since it's one of those movies that make no secret of the fact that they're bad. This was, to be sure, the worst movie I had the misfortune of watching since Troll 2, and the only reason it hasn't left my consciousness is that critics have given it a non-zero rating. These were obviously not the same critics who routinely put down good movies that audiences have liked, because giving Ghost Town a non-zero rating is not something the thinking critic would do, unless inebriated. Ghost Town can't even be called a movie in its own right. It's more like a tribute to bad horror movies. Overused horror movie cliches are piled onto each other without embarrassment, and the plot is built up frame by frame, without any forethought, in a way reminiscent of a group of five-year-olds playing pretend games. "Oh, look, a rock! What can we do with this rock? I know! This rock is the thing that gives the villain his power, so we need to destroy the rock. Oh, look, a piece of paper!" That sort of thing, except with totems and fancy Wicca arcana. I can guarantee that a group of halfway motivated middle schoolers with a single video camera and no script between them would be able to come up with something infinitely better.
