Just remembered an episode with CMNR. I'm recording it here, because I discovered to my shock that I had nearly forgotten it. We can't have that, now, can we? Especially because this is pure gold. I don't remember what led up to this, but CMNR was off on one of his sententious rants. He spoke angrily about how he had once had a student (let's call him Wendy, for no reason in particular) whose father had confronted him about his bad study habits. "Why can't you be more like your friend XYZ?" Young Wendy then proceeded to say, "His father is the general manager; you are only the manager," in CMNR's words. Outrageous, I agree. CMNR was livid. His triangular eyebrows were furrowed to such an extent that they formed a single large triangle athwart his forehead, and his naturally bloodshot eyes were redder than they usually were. He proceeded to say, "If my son would say that to me, I would shoot it." He even held up his hand like a gun. We all of us in Faraday had a hearty laugh.
Since this is already about CMNR, there's no point in pulling any punches. On another occasion there was a brief blackout, during which it got pitch black in Faraday. It was a bit exciting, really, since Faraday was one of those classrooms without any windows, and when the lights were out, it would remain pitch black even after your eyes had adapted to darkness. So this one kid starts barking, and the rest of us lost it completely. When the power came back after five minutes or so, CMNR was livid. It was hilarious. I think I recorded this episode in 2009, but corroboration from the future can only benefit history.
Oh, and on a completely unrelated note, if you're reserved and aloof, then the following maxim might come in handy, if you find that people are trying to get you to "open up". (What are you, Tupperware?) The less people know about me, the more they will like me. If you're in high school, this is apt to strike you as very profound indeed. You have only to wait a few more years before you look back at your former self, and laugh at how pretentious you used to be. I'm rambling now.

Oh lord, did this so many times in Dark Faraday. Once we began screaming Olive's line from the Hindi dub of Popeye: "Popeye! Bachao, Popeye!" xD
CMNR's speeches are so profound. Always. :P
I think I will always l look back a few years, and laugh at myself. Of late though I laugh less.
Dude, that's like a hundred times more hilarious than what happened with us. I freaking LOVE how brutal high school students could be sometimes, even the ones at FIITJEE, though I suppose this type of behavior was less prevalent in the Higher Batches.
I really miss the fact that we could engage in, witness, and get away with this kind of behavior in high school. There's just no equivalent to it when you're an adult, since everyone's so goddamned serious about everything... =[
