peripherals

I've been watching How to Get Away with Murder. Nikki recommended it to me ages ago, but for some reason I never got around to watching it until recently. It's pretty engaging. It reminds me a lot of Damages. Both are lawyer-centric dramas/crime thrillers; both feature powerful women in lead roles; and both show a stunning contempt for conventional morality. I will say, though, that the venerable Prof. Keating does seem to be a little less control of things than Patty Hewes, and a little more susceptible to being blindsided by developments that you would have thought she would have considered before anything else. But I guess that just boils down to the fact that they're different people, in different positions in life, with different responsibilities, and with different resources at their disposal. I will say, though, that I find Wes singularly annoying. His kind of goody-two-shoes is very reminiscent of Dean Thomas from Harry Potter, whom, incidentally, he played. I will refrain from writing any further till my face has ceased to be filled with doughnuts. (It's a good thing I've started running again, or I might have got fat by now.)

It's interesting how Prof.Keating isn't "awesome" and perfect like most other protagonists, but slips up quite often. You eventually get used to it instead of being disappointed by it.

Yeah. She seems like a basically nice person who's been hardened by reality. Proof? She tolerates the existence of freaking Wes...
I also don't know why, but I'm fascinated by her makeup.
