enumerating my responsibilities

Spent five-odd hours with Garp working on the OS project. Garp wasn't as useless as I had taken him to be on other occasions - especially in light of the fact that I was completely destitute of motivation. I did retain an air of usefulness, however, pontificating from the clouds like a superior being whenever Garp needed guidance, which was often. But on the whole Garp proved his worth. By way of a parting message, Garp remarked with some wonderment, "Dude, you're so fast at coding," - referring to the speed with which I resolved errors, apparently. I accepted the compliment with grace - and perhaps a bit too much eagerness - fully aware that I had become the very thing I contemned every day at UIUC: a CS major. Oh well.

Now I have to finish the daily writing assignment for ASB. Happily, I'm going to be forced to miss Thursday's class on account of events at the lab. The Professor's first PhD student is going to be visiting, and we will be discussing our research projects with him at length. Great length, in fact. Speedy is going to spend two hours presenting the course he's been designing, and the Lord knows I wouldn't miss that for the world. Nicky is more than willing to slip my writing assignment into the pile under ASB's very nose (and her twin grande lattes), in spite of her recent remonstrances against my cavalier attitude toward her course. Nicky is a true adventurer.
