conservation of stupidity

Conservatives are a bag of contradictions. That's about the politest thing I can say about them. There was a time when conservativism was a worthy school of thought, as even one such as Noam Chomsky readily recognizes. Not so today. Conservatives today do little more than concoct stories to give their vices a veneer of respectability. You have pro-lifers, who believe that life begins at conception and ends at birth. These were, apparently, the last words Jesus uttered before expiring on the cross. Conservatives are not pro anything after birth, which you can readily see in the bloodthirsty way in which they cleave to the Second Amendment at the expense of all other rights. I don't have anything against owing guns for hunting or for legitimate self-defense; but the conservative's passion for guns approaches psychosexual levels. When asked why they think they need to own every type of gun under the sun, they respond, "To defend ourselves." Everyone knows that without the Second Amendment, you would have no rights. Right, because all our other rights are constantly under attack, and we owe our freedom to the trigger happiness of some inbred hillbillies. Never mind that the "well-regulated militia" in the Second Amendment refers to something more in the nature of a reserve corps than a way to ensure that the government doesn't overstep its authority and impinge on the rights of citizens. I doubt even Sarah Palin would stand much of a chance against a S.W.A.T. team, if the government suddenly decided to unleash deadly force upon the public. Yet that is precisely what the conservative believes is his ultimate moral imperative. You would think, in light of this fact, that that these brave men and women fighting the powers that be for the rights of the common man would regard the police force with the merest suspicion. Indeed, one of their main self-defense arguments is predicated on the ineptitude of the police force. But no, conservatives fall over themselves to heap praise on the doughnut-o-phages at every opportunity they get - especially when they gun down yet another unarmed Black person in the street. You wouldn't have any of these contradictions if conservatives just came out and revealed what they truly believed in: greed, racism, and murder. There was a time when liberals and conservatives could disagree and debate their differences in good humor. That age is rapidly disappearing. Today conservatives are either stupid and well-meaning or malicious if they're not stupid.
