end of bleach *spoilers, but who really cares at this point?*

This is it. I had plans to wax poetic about Bleach and my seven-and-a-half-year journey with it, but at the crucial moment I don't really feel like writing anything at all. Ever since the cancellation notice came in, I braced myself against the possibility of being subjected to a barrage of crap as Kubo rushed to wrap things up, tying as many loose ends as he could grab while he flew 1,000 mph through the ending. As it stands, I was smart to do so. The ending of Bleach was crap. Just crap. There were some good parts, but in the main it was crap. I often thought the worst possible ending to Bleach would be Ichigo waking up and discovering that it had all been a dream and that he was a normal human being after all, with a normal and completely unremarkable life. From that perspective, the ending we got was leagues better. But it raised more questions than it answered. Why the fuck is Ichigo married to Orihime, for instance, and why does Sado look like an AU version of himself? The offspring was a predictable touch, I suppose, reminiscent of the ending of Harry Potter. And I'm glad to see Byakuya ditched the fez and went back to his old hairdo. But I'll be damned if I didn't want to see Urahara and Yoruichi in the last chapter. That was the one thing I was holding out for, and that is the one thing I didn't get. Instead we get Aizen back in prison, resigning himself to thinking happy thoughts about courage and whatnot. I don't... I don't even know what to think. I will miss waiting for weekly updates of the manga, of course, but the full force of this bereavement hasn't hit me just yet.

All I know is that this will probably be the last time I'll get to say "Titkubs" or "Titty Kubo" on this blog. Thank you, Titkubs, for this splendid series.
