My passions have cooled somewhat since the last time I wrote about our Queen Presumptive. I would vote for her in a flash. The very notion of Donald Trump occupying the White House fills me with dread, whereas with Hillary it would just be a homecoming of sorts. She's not perfect, to be sure. In fact, if there's a single person alive today who could stand athwart the world as a paragon of imperfection, it would be Hillary. She can't tell the truth even when it would be more beneficial in the moment to do so, as evidenced by her saying on Fox News that James Comey had declared that she had been truthful in everything she had said regarding her emails. She didn't even bother prevaricating: she straight up lied, even when it was immediately verifiable that she was lying. We've always known that she was a pathological liar; but now I'm beginning to suspect that she's a pathological liar in the medical sense. Something is just not right in the part of her brain that deals with the truth. Could it be trauma from her husband's scandal?
Bill Clinton was a sight to behold at the Convention. He looked like a mummy that had been forcibly dragged out of its tomb to say a few sweet words about Hillary, and then went back to sleep as soon as other speakers took the stage. And what a borderline creepy speech it was, too. When he first laid eyes on Hillary: "I got close enough to touch her back." Everyone on CNN was losing their mind over how sweet Bill's speech was and how obvious it was that he was in love with this woman. I don't think so. I think theirs is very much a marriage of convenience - a la the Underwoods'. Speaking of which, I was surprised that they hadn't invited Monica Lewinsky to speak at the convention. She seemed very much to be a part of the Clinton family when Bill was driving into her like a boring machine driving into the earth, while Al Gore held her head down and Hillary watched from the Oval Office desk behind steepled fingers.
I digress. As I said, in this race, I think voting for Hillary is a no-brainer, given the alternative. All this talk about her moral degeneracy is really only a distraction. I think people like Bernie Sanders and Obama have deluded us into having high expectations of our politicians, even though I wouldn't go so far as to call Obama a saint. In reality, a politician will always be a politician, thinking of himself and himself only, and $hillary's no different. That said, I think Hillary's selfishness and Trump's selfishness are fundamentally different. Putting aside Hillary's motivations, I think she will be faithful to the platform on which she ran. Her species of politician enrich themselves endlessly in defiance of the law, but nevertheless making the right administrative decisions at the end of the day - as a sort of happy unintended consequence. Donald Trump, on the other hand, would fashion himself a monarch and a dictator, and would actively act against the interests of the people. That's what I think anyway. If this entry was less than coherent, it's because I'm at work...

If I register to vote in Georgia, would it count for anything?
xD
Assuming you could register, your vote would damn well count, since you're a citizen. But I would look into voting as an overseas citizen. They actually comprise rather a significant portion of votes in presidential elections. I think the turnout among them percentage-wise is far higher than among domestic voters, too.
Ooh, quite the idea. I shall look into it. :)
